FOG — Freedom Officer Group · Teen leadership

Initiative is NAW's superpower.

Every teenager has the power to make a difference. Initiative turns ideas into action, builds confidence, develops leadership and creates change. At NAW, initiative is our currency: teens who step up can earn recognition, meaningful responsibilities and community service credit for eligible work.

You don't move up. You step up.

Teen Leaders · 2026–27

The Freedom Officer Group

The Freedom Officer Group (FOG) for the 2026–27 school year. As the year starts and the mission gets underway, more leaders will emerge and be a part of NAW by invitation and application. We are just getting started.

Roles and responsibilities

How FOG works

FOG Chair / Co-Chair
Guide FOG and coordinate teen leaders. These positions are ultimately appointed by the FOG teen group.
Freedom Officer
An active teen leader who contributes ideas and takes responsibility.
Mission Leader
Leads a specific project or campaign.
Program Leader
Organizes an ongoing activity.
Community Ambassador
Represents NAW with teams, Allies and community organizations.

One teen may hold several titles at once, and several teens may hold the same title. These are responsibilities, not ranks.

Membership and history

NAW Member
Every teen who joins the movement. It is not a FOG title: no pledge or leadership position is required to join.
NAW Founder
Gabby Fee, who started the movement.
Founding Team Member
The members of the 2025 Nantucket Varsity Girls Tennis Team who backed her.

These distinctions record how NAW began. They are separate from the current FOG responsibilities above.

Why get involved

Lead. Serve.
Make a difference.

FOG gives teens opportunities to organize events, lead projects, build programs and serve the community. Eligible, documented service may count toward Nantucket High School community service requirements, subject to school approval. Teens can describe their actual roles and accomplishments on résumés and college applications.
